Web Navigation Reflection
The first website I chose to evaluate was the nonprofit, Doctors Without Borders. The way this website is laid out, everything you could need to know is laid out on the front page where you can click on it and learn more. It is easy to navigate through and has a combination of videos and written descriptions. On the left side of the page you can click on the social media buttons to post articles on your personal social media from the site. This allows for this organization to be accessed by even more people when these are shared through social media. You can tell a lot of time was taken in designing and creating this website to make it easily navigable with as much information as possible without making it too cluttered.
The second site I chose to evaluate was Pencils of Promise. This website is laid out much different than the first. I feel like for this website people are going to click off the homepage much faster to find out more information as opposed to only staying on the homepage. This website offers you the option to click on the different countries this nonprofit is involved with helping to get a glimpse at what they do and the statistics for that country. They do have the option to like their social media accounts at the top of the homepage but it's not as easy to share stuff on your personal social media which doesn't make linking as easy. The website itself is, however, easy to navigate and the mission of this organization and their goals are clear.
I think after analyzing these two websites, for me personally a way to make a website more navigable would be to have it set where you can just scroll through the website without having to click on different things to take you to another page. A majority of the time I browse the Internet on my phone rather than a computer so being able to just scroll through a site instead of having to click on different things is more convenient.
